Accutane Info

Accutane (Isotretinoin) is used to treat the most severe cases of acne (nodular acne). It works by decreasing gland size in the skin.

Common Side Effects:  (According to ROCHE Pharmaceuticals: Creator of Accutane)

- Dry skin

- Dry mouth and nose

- Dry eyes

- Nose bleeds

- Inflamed lips

- Hearing problems

- Vision problems

- Lipid (Fats and cholesterol) problems

- Muscle aches and pains

- Serious brain problems

- Abdomen (stomach area) problems

- If pregnant, may cause birth defects in babies

- Serious mental problems such as depression

- Allergic reactions

***As with all drugs, there are always side effects, some more serious than others. Not all people encounter these side effects.

      In fact, most patients taking Accutane only experience chapped lips and dry skin.
